Wispeco supplies extrusions to various industries in the aluminium market. The transport industry is one of Wispecos focus areas. Aluminium is used for various applications in truck, bus and train bodies. Because aluminium is lightweight and strong it has a few main advantages for use in the transport industry. The aluminium strength to mass ratio ensure a significant increase in payload and because of this an increase in profit. The use of aluminium results in a lower tare mass and this could lead to lower fuel usage. The additional benefit of improved corrosion resistance results in better durability and longevity which in turn can have an impact on lower maintenance costs. Wispeco has the technical capabilities to design and produce the complex and heavy sections used in the transport industry and as a result we currently supply various manufacturers in the industry, sliding windows for pick-ups, minibus vehicles, signage sections, conveyor system sections and canopy windows.
Wispeco supplies the window and door extrusions for the new Gautrain train coach units. The products were specially designed to comply with strict safety requirements.
The various applications of aluminium profiles used in the transport industry are for truck bodies, truck curtain rails, bus and truck window sections, sliding windows for pick-ups, minibus vehicles, signage sections, conveyor system sections and canopy windows. Wispeco also supply manufacturers of walking systems (in the back of truck), tail-lift equipment, bullbars, stepping boards. These are high quality and tight tolerance extrusions supplied to OEM customers.
Wispeco also extrudes specialised engineering profiles which include heat sink profiles, cooling fins, electrical bus bar, ladders, scaffolding, irrigation equipment, sport and camping equipment, stair threads and flagpoles, safety security doors, curtain tracks, signage sections conveyor system sections.
An extensive range of general engineering profiles such as round tubes, solid rods, flat bars, angled and t-sections are also available.
